How I love waking up next to you
My smiling escapes my lips
Heart fluttering in disbelief
You're here again.
As I fall in love with you today
Early morning blitz
I hold my breath
Close my eyes
Pinching my skin
Afraid this might be a dream
Only to open them and discover
You
Laying next to me.
Absorbing this surreal moment
As I snuggle closer to you
Close my eyes
Kiss your forehead
Knowing I have reached heaven
I fall back in my slumber.
