Just Passing Through

I didn't realize it
But I was mourning
My heart ached
My emotions numb
My head spinning
With a million thoughts
I was dizzy
I was stunned
Completely confused
Why did you have to go
I needed you
I breathe you
I wanted you
You were my forever
The sun in my heart
Still shines
As I speak your name
The whispers
Of your voice
Stains my ears
With the anonymous fire
That burns within me
But
You're gone
My tears fall
With a roaring thunder cry
Of blowing desert sand
My heart howls in the midnight
And screams at dawn

My hands beg to touch you
And
My vision appears cloudy
While the echo of your laughter
Fills this empty space
