Lowry & Penn

(Love on the Corner)
    Lowry & Penn

There you were
I was captivatingly dizzy
By your voice
The tone was bold and gentle
As you spoke
I was hooked on you every word
Drowning in your seasoned poetry
I became Embarrassed,
The rain my eyes
I Couldn't conceal
I turned way
Tried to collect my thoughts
But it was to late
I had become your prisoner
Of your mental entrapment
As the words chained me
To the streets
Of
Lowry and Penn
Where sin is heaven
And
Heaven is often a state
Of drunken shouts
And poor black babies
Crying
I see you through my blurred filled eyes
The
Beauty
Hope and Understanding
Melts my fears
As I shackle my heart
To your aroma
Blowing in the wind
Across my face
I'm down for you
Hold me with your whispers
As I grab your hand
Together
On the corner
Of
Lowry and Penn
